I'm Mike Copelin

For over 12 years, I’ve worked as a Financial Aid Advisor—helping more than 5,000 students each year secure over $20 million annually in Federal Grants that never have to be paid back. But beyond the numbers, I know the ins and outs of what really determines how much grants and aid a student can receive—and how to unlock every possible dollar.

I’ve guided thousands of students through the complexities of Military Education Benefits, Employer Tuition Reimbursement, and tricky FAFSA details that often make the difference between zero aid and a full Pell Grant. My strength lies in making confusing financial aid systems simple and actionable—especially for students and parents who feel overwhelmed.

I created Debt-Free Degree to give every student a proven, clear path to pay for college without loans—so they can graduate with a degree, not debt.

My Story
